He was born last summer when everything was lush, green, sunny and warm. Then the fall came, sooner than we imagined, and turned the countryside into a spectacular scenery of green and flaming yellow and orange colors. We wanted it to last forever but the darkness and cold fell on northern Sweden.
Finally, the Christmas season arrived, with lights in all the windows and on every house. It got colder, it rained, the rain froze to ice and everybody felt like a penguin. But the little seagull, Larus Canus Canus, born during the warmest month of the year, did not fear, nor did he escape. He flew north.
He’s was a survivor and a fighter. He flapped his little wings, grew stronger and stronger and sailed away north to a new habitat. There he was generously rewarded with delicious goodies; chocolates, liquorice, cakes and cookies by the friends in the north. More than plenty to warm the heart, body and soul of a frozen bird.
Eventually, the snow fell and the temperature dropped to -25 C. But with goodies and friends, he was happy as can be, exploring his new surroundings.
