Historias de Estambres – un pedacito por Morelos, was a collective art exhibition, organized and executed together with Mexico-based artist Davit Nava, and 30 more local volunteers and knitters. The yarn bombing was displayed during one week, main square (zócalo), downtown Cuernavaca in March 2014 in connection with an Expo hosted by a local NGO, Morelos Único.
Its purpose was beautify the main square for the cultural week and Expo organized by Morelos Único as well as to unite people in a creative and artistic project.
Two trees and one bench was covered with multicolor yarn which equaled about 8 kg (17 pounds) of yarn. The installation resulted in lots of smiles, hugs and kisses, new friends, photos and videos. We hope to have spread rings on the water.
